SOUS-CHEF

The renowned Rivermead Golf Club is looking for an experienced SOUS-CHEF (this is a full-time position) to work in a bilingual and unionized environment.

Located in Gatineau (Québec), just 10 minutes from downtown Ottawa, the Rivermead Golf Club is one of the top private golf facilities in the region.


The Club features a beautiful, one-of-a-kind clubhouse that offers members and their guests formal and casual dining options, as well as the opportunity to host receptions, business meetings, or lavish wedding banquets.

The person applying for this job must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

This is a permanent position with benefits and group insurance, and a very competitive salary to be negotiated based on experience.

A sous-chef assists the executive chef in food preparation and kitchen management. Typical duties include meal preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and maintaining food quality.
You will oversee the delivery of food products, prepare special dishes, and supervise all kitchen operations during lunch service.

Responsibilities of a Sous-Chef include:
•    Assisting in menu creation
•    Supervising cooks and other kitchen employees
•    Teaching new culinary techniques to the kitchen staff
•    Managing purchasing, stock, and inventory
•    Ensuring hygiene standards are met
•    Replacing the chef in their absence
Key qualities of a good sous-chef include:
•    Strong leadership skills

Requirements:
•    2+ years of culinary studies
•    Over 5 years of experience in a similar position
•    Advanced knowledge of professional food principles and practices
•    Strong knowledge of human resources management
•    Excellent understanding of management systems, ordering, and inventory
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Ability to meet deadlines
•    Availability to work on call, in rotating shifts, after hours, weekends, and holidays
•    Must be fluent in French

 COOK (part-time)

Description of the position
•    Prepare the ingredients required for the preparation of dishes;
•    Ensure the organization of the work station for preparation of various courses;
•    Prepare, cook and season the dishes using appropriate methods;
•    Participate in setting up the plates;
•    Maintain quality standards for production and presentation following established norms;
•    Ensure maintenance of cleanliness of the work environment, the maintenance of equipment and respect of standards of hygiene, sanitation, health and safety;
•    Carry out all other tasks required to ensure excellent client service and operational efficiency.
